Published articles:
Extending the consulting definition of “have bag, will travel,” Art has toured Cuba and Vietnam to assess logistics issues in those countries. His white papers on those tours include observations on culture, cuisine, and geopolitics. Art has also been published in Warehousing Forum, Modern Material Handling, Material Handling Engineering and The Journal of Business Logistics.Art's monthly column, co-authored with Ken Ackerman, appears in DC Velocity magazine. His definitive book, Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management - An Essential Guide For 21st century Managers, was published in mid-2007.
Industry leadership:
Art recently retired as the six-term Chair of TPG's international arm, The Supply Chain Group AG. The SCG includes representation from Germany, Italy, France, Benelux, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Eastern Europe. He is a perennial speaker and Track Chair at CSCM and WERC national - and international - conferences. Art has co-produced Georgia Tech's Supply Chain Short Course and Global Supply Chain Program. He is the developer and principal presenter for CSCMP's pioneering workshops, Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management and Strategic Issues in Supply Chain Management.
