Business Problem

• To startup a new facility, Gap Inc Direct needed a project manager for the cross-functional team of construction, material handling, systems, and operations.

TPG Challenge

• Develop and manage an integrated schedule for the entire project.
• Build a project infra-structure that facilitated cross functional team communication.
• Communicate with senior management project risks and issues before they jeopardized the startup date.
• Maintain an audit trail and decision history files.

Results

• Gap Inc. Direct started up the new facility on the exact day it had been scheduled from the project’s beginning.
• Gap Inc. Direct followed the same process with TPG’s management to subsequently bring up a new highly automated facility
