Ozburn-Hessey Logistics is a Top 20 3PL / Contract Warehousing firm based in Nashville, TN. OHL Operates 25+ distribution facilities with over 15M square feet of dry and refrigerated space and handles 300 customers, each with different warehouse process flows.

Business Problem

• Need for a more sophisticated warehousing system to attract and manage higher margin contract and public warehouse accounts
• Very sophisticated WMS Requirements

TPG Challenge

• Find a new WMS that could support a wide variety of operating practices as well as 3PL billing
• Find a WMS provider that would partner with OHL to get modifications accomplished quickly and cost effectively
• Support implementation where TPG value is necessary

Results

• TPG assisted in designing a Billing Module that the selected vendor incorporated into their standard product
• Software was implemented in 1999 and has resulted in many multi-million dollar contract accounts where OHL leveraged its new technology to offer superior customer service at a competitive price
